Our enemies have waged battles in our backyards but not without our organizing and our outright refusal to live without our desire nor embody their shame. Our defiance and our desire has been our survival and our resistance. Our longing for one another has been the lifeblood of our organizing. We’ve built the SONG kinship network and political home on these values and to break our isolation, but we’ve also evolved it to build and flex our collective and unified power in our hometowns and cities all across the South.
The decades long path of a culture war with the wish of our deaths at its core is not new or a shock. The time to protect and defend our communities, to build sanctuary, to dream and live free from fear is also not new, but the urgency of the call and the mandate rings clearer than ever under the Trump regime. We’re inviting you to join us for the year of turning up! How can you get down?
