Read SONG’s Nashville’s 2019 Courtwatch Report!
In the spring of 2017, the SONG Nashville, Tennessee chapter began participating in the Black Mama’s Bail Out Action. In doing this work, they are fighting on a local level for a world that does not rely on money bail, pre-trial detention or surveillance to operate. More generally they are fighting to abolish the beast that is the prison industrial complex. As a part of the overall End Money Bail and Pre-trial Detention campaign, SONG Nashville calls for bail reform worthy of our people. In the final section of this report, there is an in depth description of what the campaign is asking for and what it is working towards.
