Communications Manager

Auburn Wideman (she/hers) is a proud native and resident of South Carolina, a self-proclaimed future Jeopardy champion, voracious reader and consumer of content, and sports fanatic.

A proud alumna of the University of South Carolina (go cocks!), Auburn graduated with a major in Media Arts and minors in Journalism and African-American Studies; marrying her creative passions with her love for her people, politics, and history.

Led by her life’s purpose of leaving her community, her people, and the world a little better than she found it, Auburn serves out her purpose using her talents and time to serve her community through her organizing work and entrepreneurial pursuits.

In her current role as the Communications Manager for Southerners on New Ground, Auburn uses her big-brain thinking, strategic outlook, and creative talents to tell and uplift the stories of our people, push narratives that move us toward liberation in our lifetime, and make revolution look irresistible.
