Join SONG for a CALL APRIL 12th at 8PM EST to discuss how we can fight back South Carolina S.1203.

While South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley has alluded that she will veto anti-trans Senate Bill 1203 if it passes through the legislature, we must hold her accountable to her words and to her elected power. And for others, like state Senator Lee Bright, we must hold their feet to the fire for the fear-mongering, scapegoating, and transphobic legislation they are advocating.

As LGBTQ Southerners and South Carolina SONG we have to unify and strengthen our forces against these attacks on our communities in bigger, bolder and braver ways. We can’t leave it up to ‘backroom deals’ or national organizations to save us from them.

We will share SOME of the strategies we are testing in other states and hold space for YOU to bring forth YOUR best ideas as well!

“Religious Freedom” anti-trans bills are sweeping our region because of our organizing wins led by LGBTQ, Black, immigrant, and working class communities.  Right wing legislators feel rigtheous and emboldened in their haste, but we too must ACT with boldness in the face of unemployment, police violence, and criminalization.

It’s #time2escalate and bring our brightest thinking and action together. Join us and thousands of others across the South! #wecame2slay
