Director of Operations and Finance

Lionel Neptune (he, him, his) joined the SONG team as its Director of Operations and Finance in July 2023.  He is proud to have pivoted from a multi-decade career in corporate business and finance and to have forged his own audacious path, guided by his commitment to advancing social and economic justice. 

Lionel is grateful to have been radicalized into movements to advance a progressive and representative government, an economy not rigged in favor of the wealthy, donor-class, and interests, and a more egalitarian society unmoored from the patriarchy that has forever oppressed and marginalized communities of color, LGBTQ+ people, etc. Prior to joining SONG, he was the Director of Institutional Advancement at the Working Families Party (WFP), where he served in a variety of financial and administrative roles for eight years.  

Recognizing, from experience, that all work and no play is no way to be one’s best self, no matter how laudable the work, Lionel indulges his creative side by writing short stories, playing the guitar, baking, and running the occasional marathon.
