Salir del closet ante nosotrxs mismxs, es entregarnos al camino de la verdadera liberación, donde podemos ser nosotrxs mismxs y vivir dentro de nuestra verdad. Salir del closet ante otras personas es ofrecer nuestra verdad vulnerable, con un riesgo profundo de pérdida y una gran esperanza de pertenecer. El regalo en el otro lado, con que muchxs de nosotrxs somos afortunadxs de contar, es el de pertenecer a una familia elegida que sinceramente nos conoce y nos acepta tal y como somos. En este Día de la Salida del Closet, reconocemos el camino hacia nosotrxs mismxs y honramos a aquellxs que todavía lo emprenden.

Coming out to ourselves is a leaning towards the path of true liberation where we can belong to ourselves and live in our truth. Coming out to others is an offering of our vulnerable truth, with deep risk of loss and great hope for belonging. The gift on the other side, that many of us are blessed with, is belonging in chosen family who truly knows us and accepts us for who we are. On this Coming Out Day, we recognize the pathway to ourselves and honor those still embarking on this journey.
