Vanessa Faraj was born and raised in Atlanta, GA with strong ties to homelands Palestine and Iraq, Vanessa Faraj is a third-culture kid. She has worked as a community organizer, activist and social worker for over 15 years in Atlanta, across the United States, and in the Arab world and currently works as the National Organizer at Caring Across Generations. In recent years she has had the privilege of being a part of organizing efforts in her hometown of Atlanta to pass the end of wealth-based detention and to close the Atlanta City Detention Center. She loves building and maintaining community and friendships that transgress continents and borders, traveling everywhere she is able, and her family.
