DESCRIPTION:Join the monthly Small Town & Rural Working Group calls! \nThe Small Town & Rural Working Group comes from a long legacy in SONG to fight isolation and build power with our queer and trans folks across the South. We understand that the South is primarily rural and many of our folks are systematically ignored from the primary narrative of what liberation and freedom for LGBTQ can look like. Rural queers face many of the same predicaments and challenges of our urban counterparts\, but they are often magnified by this social economy of small places. DESCRIPTION:The year is coming to a close\, but not before we take time to remember the work we have done together\, recall all of the folks who have thrown down with us over the year\, and recommit to membership and organization. Since our last regional member call we have turned up all across the South with our folks in Mississippi\, Atlanta\, Nashville\, Durham\, and more. We have sharpened our tools through organizing schools\, regional convenings and Free From Fear calls. On this call we want to capture and uplift the essence of all of the movement across the region that has happened through direct actions\, base building and member initiated projects. \nJoin us as we recap 2019 by sharing lessons learned\, celebrate new and emerging chapters\, forecast some of the exciting moves we are making 2020\, with our electoral experiments and C4.
