DESCRIPTION:Join SONG for a three-part Black Queer August Political Education series from 6-8pm EST on August 14th (closed session)\, August 21st\, and August 31st. Together we will study the histories\, traditions\, and themes of Black August from a Black Queer and Trans abolitionist lens.  \nWe will cover topics including George Jackson and the origins of Black August \, Trans and Queer abolitionism\, unpacking the meanings of ‘political prisoner\,’ letter writing\, and the connections between maroonage\, abolition\, and Black land stewardship today.
