Join SONG Virginia for Round 3 of the Virginia W.A.P. (Writing And Political education program) on Saturday, March 6th from 3:30-5PM ET.
This initiative is focused on exchanging letters with folks incarcerated and prison abolition education.
New to letter writing? That’s great! Come and learn the process and skill up as we go. All are welcome!
Virginia W.A.P has four big goals:
- Breaking isolation – especially w/ incarcerated people but also with each other, and especially during COVID when we are all facing isolation.
- To be of service to people incarcerated.
- Political education focused on the PIC, prison abolition, mass incarceration, the war on drugs, etc., Education on how to navigate these systems which leads to…
- Systems change!, with consent – share stories and personal experiences of incarcerated people for abolitionist advocacy and education.
